No High-rises on Sheridan Road

11 Apr

Hello friends, neighbors and curious internet surfers!

It’s been relatively quiet on the site for some time but thanks to the steady stream of emails from residents who are still unsure about the possibility of a high-rise near the corner of Foster and Sheridan Road, WE’RE BACK!

Unfortunately, there’s no real news about the property adjacent to the new grocery store, save for continued rumors about a large high-rise rental building. Thanks to the latest development at the corner of Foster and Sheridan, traffic and congestion has increased dramatically. Imagine what 450+ more units will do to our neighborhood?!

In the mean time, the site looks pretty good right now, with some grass hopefully on the way. Maybe it should remain as is and neighbors can make it into a small park?! After all, this Saturday is the North Lake Shore Earth Day 2011.

Active and savvy residents are encouraged to call in to Alderman-elect Harry Osterman and find out what’s what!

Per usual, don’t forget to sign our petition and spread the word! Together we can figure out what they’re trying to build here and work to bring a sensible building to the area, not a monstrosity.
